Sales Data

This section covers how Sales Data in TPD PRO is used to report annual product sales per Presentation and per country, typically required by EU Member States by March 31 each year.

What is Sales Data?

The Sales Data module in TPD PRO allows you to record and manage annual sales volumes for each product Presentation across different national markets. This information is required by many EU Member States as part of regulatory compliance under Article 5 and Article 20 of the Tobacco Products Directive (2014/40/EU).

How Sales Data Works in TPD PRO

  • The Sales Data section displays only the data that has already been entered for each Presentation

  • Sales data is recorded per Presentation, per market, and per calendar year

ℹ️ Most EU countries require sales data to be submitted by March 31st for the previous calendar year.

How to Add Sales Data

Sales data is added within the Presentation editing screen as follows:

  1. Navigate to an existing Submission

  2. Open the Presentations tab

  3. Click Edit on the desired Presentation

  4. Scroll to the Sales Data section

  5. Enter:

    • Sales volume (e.g., total units sold)

    • Reference year (e.g., 2024)

    • Choose Sales File (statics of the sales) - to optimize workflow usually same file is submitted among all markets

  6. Click Save

Submitting Sales Data to EU-CEG

Once Sales Data has been added:

  1. Go to the Submission

  2. Change the Submission Type to “Periodical Update”

  3. Export the updated XML

  4. Submit the file via eTrustEx platform

✅ Submitting annual sales data as a Periodical Update ensures full compliance with EU-CEG requirements.

Best Practices

  • Add Sales Data early in Q1 to ensure on-time submission

  • Review each Presentation to confirm that sales data is accurate per market

  • Keep historical data organized for audits or future reporting cycles
