Introduction

TPD PRO

A SaaS platform designed to simplify and automate the submission of e-cigarette and tobacco product notifications to the EU-CEG. It helps manufacturers, importers, and consultants generate XML files, manage product data, and ensure regulatory compliance.

TPD stands for Tobacco Products Directive — the main EU regulation governing e-cigarettes, refill containers, and related products (Directive 2014/40/EU).

EU-CEG (European Common Entry Gate)

An official portal developed by the European Commission where manufacturers and importers submit product information (in XML format) for tobacco and vaping products.
Each Member State pulls data from EU-CEG to manage products on its local market.

XML (eXtensible Markup Language)

The standard file format required for EU-CEG submissions.
Each Submission, Submitter, and Attachment is represented as a structured XML file that is validated and uploaded via eTrustEx.

TPD PRO auto-generates compliant XML files from user-entered data.

eTrustEx

The secure file exchange portal provided by the European Commission.
Used to send XML files (Submissions, Attachments, Submitters) to the EU-CEG system.

It functions like a secure email client, confirming whether the data has been accepted (Success) or rejected (Error).

Submission

The core unit of regulatory reporting in TPD PRO. A Submission is a package of data about a product or update (e.g., new product, presentation, correction) that is converted into an XML file and sent to EU-CEG.

Submissions include product type, ingredients, presentations, toxicology data, and supporting documents.
